Step Strong
I “reach out” because I don’t care.

Lately I've been noticing the phrase "reaching out" used more and more. It used to feel like a phrase that actually meant something but now people are using it to add the illusion of effort.
"Thanks for reaching out"
"We reached out'
It's a way to say you really really tried but in actuallity you did not try. It wasn't that hard. Stop using the phrase "reaching out".
Just to prove I'm not insane I did a google trends search for the terms "reach out","touch base", "get in touch", "reaching out".
Notice how in late 2008 the term "reach out" sees a spike. It's totally taken over terms like "touch base".
Why Facebook’s New Openness Matters to Most
I just figured out why Facebook's new openness will matter to a lot of people.
People who are banned/blocked from reading facebook at work will now be able to access their newsfeed anywhere.
I'm sure there is more utility to the api that I haven't thought of but when the selling point is "You could replicate the facebook page!" I think it's a bit shallow but for now it will allow facebook to continue distracting people at work. What's next, open fantasy baseball apis? Wait....
We made it because we’re dummies
Found this in the wal-mart clearance aisle. "Identity Theft for Dummies".
They should make a book called "not overusing a brand name for dummies".
Eh. Snark.
GeoCities Closes! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
"GeoCities will close later this year."
Ok, I know it's a bit dramatic but GeoCities was my first website ever. Well maybe it was Angelfire. Pour some out for your fallen homey geocities. What's next webcrawler?

[Warning] This video may make you cry..
Japan has discovered Numa Numa and have made it their own.
Do you think they have room for one more backup dancer? I can do this dance.

The "proper version":
I can't believe this is a real thing.
New pornography laws ‘could make comic books illegal’, say campaigners
They are protesting against two pieces of legislation. The first,
the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act, comes into force later this
month.
It will make possessing "extreme pornography" - defined
as any "extreme image" produced "solely or principally for the purpose
of sexual arousal" - illegal.
The Government defines an "extreme
image" as any "grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise ... obscene"
moving or still depiction of someone any "reasonable person" would
think real being sexually injured or engaging in sexual activity with
an animal or corpse.
